About Bayt Sara
Bayt Sara is a small restaurant near Jebal Amman and Rainbow Street serving vegan food. Sara is half Romanian and Jordanian and lived in Italy for some time. Upon her return to Jordan, she decided to open a 100% vegan kitchen in Jordan. She prepares Italian, Romanian, Jordanian meals, desserts and even milkshakes, smoothies and Cappuccino. Bayt Sara also offers delivery. Due to the current situation, I was not bale to pass by, yet, but she told me that a nice community of Vegan people enjoy her place.
The Food at Bayt Sara
Last week we received a delivery from Bayt Sara with Vegan Goulash, Lasagne and Shawerma. If you have been following for some time, you know I am not Vegan at all. Nevertheless, I wanted to try the food, especially, because it is an interesting mix of cuisines and vegan on top. I enjoyed the Goulash the most. It was nice, also pretty close to a regular meat dish, I would say. The Lasagne was good, but missed a bit some taste of Italian herbs. The shawerma was also very different from a meat based one obviously, but tasted good. My favorite was however the vegan chocolate cake. It was very tasty and fluffy, so can only recommend it. I didn’t miss anything there.
Usually, there is a nice variety of different, daily changing vegan dishes that Sara prepares. As a non-vegan, you might need to adapt a little to the seasoning. However, I usually eat a lot of meat-based Arabic and International food, so I am not the best to judge. I will definitively come back in person to Bayt Sara, to try some food at the restaurant, when the restrictions are loosening up. I also want to experience the cozy atmosphere myself and get to know the owner. If you are interested in more food outlets in Amman, see everything about where to eat in Amman, here.
