Iraq Al-Amir

The castle in Iraq Al-Amir might not be a Must-see on a short Jordan visit, but is worth a visit on a day, when it is not too warm. The surroundings are nice and it is a nice spot. The site is not very large, so in about 30-45 minutes you probably will have seen everything. The castle is also located at the end/beginning of one of the hikes from the Jordan Trail. If you are here you also might visit the women’s cooperative where handicrafts are being made. The proximity from Amman makes it possible to visit in half a day, if you want. I visited the castle shorty again on a Cycling Trip with Cycling Jordan. See the post here of our ride in January 2019.
