Wine from South Africa in Jordan
Initially, the Wine Project was founded by a young couple that recently relocated to Jordan and found that something was missing. Ronish and his wife realized that they were not able to find good wines for a fair price. That was true as well for some of the South African wines available already. In order to change that, they had the idea to re-introduce wine from South Africa to Jordan. Hence, the Wine Project was born.
The goal is to provide good South African Wines to Jordan. The Wine Project offers a fair selection of wines in an affordable price range. The different wines range from red ones over rose to white wines. There is a small portfolio of wines, mainly from small to medium-sized vineyards with a reputation for quality. Many of them are family-owned and are built on traditions and heritage. So, you will receive something special rather than a mass-produced wine.
South African Wines Available
I ordered a curated case of MAN wines with three red and three white wines. The mixed box contains a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Merlot and a Pinotage among the red wines. For the white ones, there is a Sauvignon Blanc, a Chardonnay and a Chenin Blanc. Honestly, I haven’t had the chance to try them all, yet. However, I really enjoyed the Chenin Blanc and the Chardonnay. The Chenin Blanc is a really refreshing white wine for summer days and a popular wine in South Africa, as mentioned by Ken Forrester.
There are different wines from different vineyards available. These currently include the ones from the MAN family as well as from Ken Forrester Petit, Vondeling, Kaapzicht, and others. In the future the portfolio will change and will also include a few bottles in the range of 35 JD and up. These ones will be excellent wines sough after in South Africa. So, stay tuned for what will be coming soon.
