Don Corleone’s is a Bar and Restaurant in Shmesani, serving Italian food and bringing you music events featuring different DJs and bands. The place is styled in the Godfather theme with dark interior, elegant chairs and pictures featuring scenes and characters from the movie. It just recently opened and therefore is very clean and nice. We were there, when there was no event and fairly early, so we had the place to us alone. Recently, different DJs have been spinning some tunes there.
We started with a salad that was really refreshing, some Stuffed Mushrooms with cherry tomatoes and Shrimps wrapped in Bacon with garlic sauce. All starters were really yummy. The salad had an interesting touch to it, the mushrooms were very smooth and the Shrimps just a delight.
As main dishes we ordered the Black Spaghetti with Shrimps and the Sizzling Salmon with vegetables. The Spaghetti are colored with squid ink and they came with a tomato sauce, topped with shrimps and tasted great. Usually, I am not a big fan of tomato sauce but this one was good, I have to say. The Salmon came sizzling on a hot platter and was served with mushrooms and mixed veggies. Along came salt and pepper and a mustard lemon sauce, so you could flavor everything to your taste. The fish was excellent. Everything was served hot, presented well and tasted really good. Size of the portions were more than enough, so you won’t leave hungry for sure.
The atmosphere of Don Corleone’s is truly unique. I found it a bit dark for a restaurant, but I am sure as the night gets older, the place gets filled and people sip on their unique cocktails, it all comes together. The menu itself was a bit hard to handle with this giant frame that fits the style of the restaurant but doesn’t really make it easy to read it. Other than that, it is a nice place with friendly stuff and surprisingly good food. Cheers to the godfather. Make sure to check out their Facebook page, their happy hour offers and diverse events coming up.
Thanks a lot to Don Corleone’s Team for the nice evening.
