About PAIA Cafe and Restaurant
PAIA is a place in Hawaii and PAIA Cafe and Restaurant in Amman adopted that name and strives to bring you great food, coffee, argeela and a wonderful experience as if you were on a faraway island yourself. PAIA Amman recently opened its doors on Abdallah Ghosha street, opposite of Total gas station. It is a double story big place with lots of light and greenery reflecting the Hawaiian feel. I visited PAIA in the last week before the lock down due to COVID-19 and like to finally share with you my experience, as they are now open again.
The interior design is quite refreshing and not overdone. The ceiling downstairs is high, so it creates a nice large room. You can view coffee being prepared behind the open counter. A lot of light comes from the large glass front and seating is on comfy chairs. Upstairs is a second level providing lots of room for guests.
Food and Drinks at PAIA Amman
PAIA Amman has a wide range of foods from International cuisine over Arabic delights, to baked goodies such as Pizza and some fusion food with Asian influence. We tried a couple of different dishes and also had shisha. We started with the Thai Beef Salad which was served in a coconut shell, which was pretty cool. It is a red salad with beef stripes together with glass noodles and sesame and tasty dressing. We also had the Dynamite Shrimps which were very yummy. Just the right amount of spiciness.
As for main dishes we chose the Grilled Salmon and a Chicken Veggie dish. I love seafood and especially salmon and it was very good. The fish and the veggies were great. The only thing I didn’t like was the mashed potato. The chicken dish was very good, too. Portions are actually quite generous and maybe we could have settled with one dish less. As mentioned PAIA is not just a restaurant, but also a cafe. So it is a place, that you can enjoy all day around. The shisha was very good and the staff is attentive. Drinking coffe at PAIA is a pleasant experience, too. We went for the Cappuccino and there is nothing to complain about.
Summary of PAIA Cafe
PAIA Amman is a very relaxed place if you want to go with friends for coffee or food. There is a lot of space and food, coffee and shisha is of good quality. They also provide some seating outside in the summer season. Staff is friendly and supporting. If their is something to point out, it is the vast size of the food menu leaving you a bit confused probably. There is a huge variety of dishes, so it not exactly clear where the focus lies. Luckily, everything we tried tasted great. If you like to try a new place in town, make sure to head over to PAIA Restaurant and Cafe.
