The Atmosphere at The Deck Lounge
The Deck Lounge at the Rotana Amman Hotel is a modern Rooftop bar located in the center of Amman overlooking the Abdali Boulevard. Inline with the design of the hotel, the bar is kept in simple colors with a focus on blue. It has a light Tropical theme represented by Pineapples and Flamingos. Seating is either on high chairs or on the couches. The Deck Lounge offers great views above the Abdali Boulevard and the surroundings of the Hotel. It is located on the 6th floor, so not on the top of the hotel, but high enough to allow for a nice rooftop feeling. The bar looks pretty neat rather than stuffed. Also, a DJ is spinning some live tunes. Although I am not a huge fan of electronic music, he managed to entertain with a great flow of music throughout the night.
Food and Drinks
We ordered the obligatory dynamite shrimps and watermelon with cheese and mint for starters. We also choose the crab salad with crispy sauce. The dynamite shrimps were really spicy, which I liked. The crab salad was yummy as well. The watermelon was nice but not out of this world. For mains shared beef medallions with roasted vegetables and potatoes wedges. The meat was good and the veggies tasty, only the beans a bit hard. Our drinks were really nice. We choose a Mai Thai and another refreshing summer cocktail. You can also smoke argeela and there is a wide range of other spiritis and wines.
Conclusion of The Deck Lounge
All in all, The Deck Lounge at Rotana Amman is a great spot to enjoy summer nights with drinks, and argeela. If you look for some bar food and snacks it is also great. For a full course meal, however, I suggest you turn to their onsite Italian restaurant Gusto, which is really amazing. The staff at The Deck was very polite and professional at the same time. Last but not least, you can enjoy an amazing view of the Abdali Boulevard from the top.
